It feels like yesterday, reminiscing the past
I recall when we were made slaves to the foreigners
Under whose command we lived
Whilst we acted as servants
And served them like gods
Bind with metal chains from head to toe
We were sold into slavery
And left the shores of our motherland,
Wailing in sorrow and agony
To work in a land unknown to us
This torture continued until
One man with a diverse mindset
Understood our pains and groans
And called for liberation
For total independence
He stood and fought for all
Notwithstanding the dangers ahead
Against all odds,
He was met with challenges and oppositions
From those he even considered his own
His dreams finally materialized
As he fought, not only for his generation
But the generations yet unborn
And for Africa as a whole
All hail Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah!!!
Ghana's irreplaceable gem
You speak to the heart and raise the spirit of compassion
